Great Advice

Sometimes we get great advice, and we don’t act on it, what a shame. I decided to heed the advice of a guest speaker we had visit UOP-my university- to start a blog. Why not right? Lauren Cerand said it was a great idea, and I believe she knows what she’s talking about.

She gave an excellent speech about trying to get your work noticed in the modern age. Things are changing rapidly and she has been a part of that change in her field as an independent public relations representative. Growing up in the digital age, people like myself don’t think much about all the technology we use everyday. We can take it for granted that we have a skill set. My grandpa is on the internet right now, but some people aren’t so tech savvy yet. Great talk. She had a lot of interesting things to say and she has great taste in music. I just listened to a band she represents Japanther you should check them out, reminds me of the good old days of the Ramones.

Lauren also gave me several suggestions for places to submit my poetry. I can always use help finding new markets. I am working on a ton of revisions of my poetry right now, so I have stopped submitting as much lately. I am going to force my self to submit something this week and see what happens. We all need a nudge sometimes. Thanks Lauren.

Best,
